CHPP Production Supervisor

-Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

Job Description

-We are seeking a CHPP Production Supervisor to join the CHPP team at Capcoal Mine on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the CHPP Production Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising the production crew to safely execute the shift production plans and deliver the annual coal production plan by optimising activities and continually improving the performance of the Coal Handling Processing Plant.

Your core function will be to manage the real time performance of your production crew, deliver against agreed targets and schedules, while ensuring that jobs are completed in a safe and efficient manner. This will involve significant interaction with maintenance personnel and where required, supervision of maintenance activities. As the key production interface at the CHPP, you will be accountable for but not limited to proactively leading and coordinating production crew performance, breakdown response action planning and contingency planning direction, alignment of best practice across crews and ensuring statutory compliance is met.

Qualifications

• -Trade and/or suitable qualifications in line with Coal Processing.
• Hold the Supervisor & Risk Facilitator competency (S1, 2 3 & G2).
• Demonstrated experience within a Coal Processing Plant environment.
• Understanding and proven capabilities in driving opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to influence and achieve stakeholder buy in.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Understanding of the coal mining process and relevant mining legislation will be highly regarded.
