We are seeking a talented Finance Analyst to join our team in Melbourne, supporting the events and sports sector. This role requires exceptional business partnering and stakeholder management skills as well as analytical capabilities.

The role commences as a 9-month contract and has a potential to lead to something more permanent.

Description

The Finance Analyst is responsible for the following:

  • Analyse financial performance and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and forecasting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
  • Business partner with GMs and Heads of, specifically within operations.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting activities.
  • Identify trends and provide solutions to optimise financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Month end ad hoc work as required (posting journals, reconciliations etc.)
  • Partake in system transformation activities- migration of data and system optimisation initiatives.

Profile

A successful Finance Analyst should have:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
