Employing over 550 staff, Sci-Fleet has multiple Toyota, Lexus and Hino dealerships spanning across South East Queensland which look after all aspects of motoring including Parts, Service, Finance and Insurance.

Sci-Fleet Toyota, Australia's largest Toyota Dealer, currently has an opportunity for a qualified and experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic/Technician to carry out in-depth mechanical repairs at our Kedron SRD (Special Repair Dealer).

Our Kedron site is the only Queensland dealer authorised for Toyota warranty transmission diagnosis and repair.

Working closely with our service centre team, you will be responsible for:

  • Major mechanical repairs – removing engines and gearboxes

  • Completing all aspects of mechanical repairs and diagnosis; including timing chain and guide replacement, internal gearbox repairs, clutches, suspension, brakes, etc.

  • Providing advice in relation to the mechanical condition of vehicles

  • Providing guidance to apprentice technicians

As our ideal candidate, you will possess the following skills and attributes.

  • Hold a current and valid manual driver's license (Queensland) (MANDATORY REQUIREMENT)

  • Prior mechanical experience is required, ideally in a mainstream car franchised dealer

  • Extensive knowledge of vehicles and the ability to work proactively in an autonomous environment

  • Attention to detail with a good work ethic

  • Hold a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle)

  • Toyota experience advantageous, but not necessary

  • Excellent personal presentation

  • Intermediate computer skills

Preferred Experience:

We're especially interested in candidates with experience in heavy repair work within the light vehicle field. This includes tasks such as:

  • Gearbox removal and diagnosis

  • Engine removal and fault finding

  • Timing chain replacements

  • Other complex mechanical repairs
