Our Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Warrnambool is looking for a professional, friendly, highly organised Registered Nurse to join our triage team on a part time or casual basis.

About the Role

As a vital team member, the triage nurse will be responsible for ensuring all patients presenting at our Urgent Care Centre are identified as being appropriate for our service, triaged promptly and provided with front line care in collaboration with the GP on duty.

Key responsibilities:

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • The triage of all patients who present at our Urgent Care service. This includes completing a comprehensive assessment in line with the Australasian Triage Scale.
  • Act promptly for any triaged patients requiring emergency escalation or due to deterioration.
  • Perform procedural work such as suturing and plastering.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within the dynamic Urgent Care environment.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centered care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and GPs.
  • Ensure patients achieve desired clinical outcomes.
  • Provide essential health education to patients.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and promptly.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Appropriate Tertiary qualifications ie. Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum 3-years nursing experience.
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Triage certification.
  • Current professional indemnity insurance.
  • A current National Police Records Check.
  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software systems eg. Word and Excel.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Work rights in Australia or be eligible for such.
