QA Officer

The Role

QA/QC Officer will be hands-on in the manufacturing environment assisting the Site Quality Assurance Manager and Quality & Compliance Coordinator in matters related to food safety, general hygiene, monitoring of compliance to quality procedures, manufacturing process and quality management systems.

Core Responsibilities

· Positive release of ingredients and packaging, sampling, routine QC test performance and verification of quality records when required.

· Assist in the non-conformance root-cause investigation of ingredients, in process products and finished products and assisting to quarantine any non-conformance products.

· Assist with GMP walks, internal audits, consumer complaints investigation and other internal NCRs raised due to procedural deviations.

· Ensure laboratory equipment is well maintained and carry out internal calibration.

· Ensure production records are filed and maintained in an orderly manner.

· Maintain retention sample register.

· Undertake weekly environmental testing including sampling of water, air and swabbing as per schedule.

· Ensure 5S in the lab and assist to drive 5S in the production and warehousing areas.

· Any other activity in the quality department and / or for improvement of site quality as instructed by the Site Quality Manger

To be successful in this role you will have

· Bachelor's degree in food science, quality assurance or related field

· Experience as a QA/QC officer in the food manufacturing industry (preferred)

· Good understanding of Food Safety, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.

· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to identify quality issues and implement effective solutions.

· Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven

· Mindset with a willingness to perform other duties as necessary.

· Passion for Quality and to develop a quality culture within the organisation.
