About the Position

The primary focus of this position is to provide feasible and economical engineering solutions to our internal and external customers.

Your core responsibilities will involve providing engineering support and advice to the company fabricators and other associated companies regarding engineering design, rectification and support services as required including conceptual and detailed engineering designs, planning and designing structural systems for buildings, calculating loads and performing structural analysis and design as well as coordinating structural plans with other engineers.

Other tasks will include assisting with product development, prototype testing and analysis for updating existing products and new product additions.

Key Selection Criteria

This position is suited to a graduate engineer, the ideal candidate shall hold a Bachelor of Civil Engineering.  Being recognised for admission to the Institute of Engineering Australia (EA) as a graduate member is preferable.

In addition, the incumbent will be required to demonstrate practical proficiency in engineering, with varying skills and backgrounds.

  • Exposure to or experience on building site and building construction practices;
  • Ideally would have roof truss manufacturing experience but not essential;
  • A good level of computer literacy is a pre-requisite and knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft software is mandatory; and,
  • A high level of communication skills (verbal and written) is a requirement with a good level of problem-solving abilities.

Success in this role will also be driven by your ability to hold knowledge of processes and practices, and experience in working in an internal support and external customer facing, support team. With demonstrated familiarity and knowledge of necessary safety practices, design criteria, and technical standards to ensure implementation of best practice during work.
