About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Dealer to support our high-performing investment team in a full-time office-based position in Melbourne.

This position provides an exceptional opportunity to support the investment teams with the trading and execution of domestic and global corporate bonds across multiple currencies and time zones.

The ideal candidate would have good understanding of fixed income securities, ideally gained from a fixed income operations role and are seeking to progress to a markets facing position.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Dealing: Trade support to Portfolio Managers with the identification, execution and settlement of trades across various investment products.
• Market Interaction: Engaging with sell-side dealers to negotiate, source and sell bonds.
• Hedging & Exposure Management: Hedging FX and derivative exposures across portfolios.
• Systems Management: Maintaining and updating the accuracy of internal systems and pricing data.
• Operational Coordination: Liaising with Operations, System Development and Strategy & Risk teams to ensure smooth trade processing and policy adherence.

What We Are Looking For:

• Organisational Skills: Very high attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high pressure environment when required.
• Financial Knowledge: Understanding of fixed income products and markets, in particular corporate bonds and structured credit.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills given the markets-facing nature of the role and requirement to work across investment teams.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Excel and programming skills would be advantageous.
• Experience: 1–2 years of fixed income experience.
• Education: A tertiary qualification in Finance/Commerce, or a related field.
