The Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team. This role has been created to strengthen our in-house IT capability and support the development and maintenance of our bespoke print management systems. The Software Engineer will play a key role in integrating our digital printing equipment with custom-built workflow software and enhancing customer-facing online platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective software design and system architecture.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Hornet Press's in-house print management and tracking software to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Build and maintain customer-facing web platforms for online orders, real-time job tracking, and client communications.
  • Develop and maintain APIs to integrate internal systems with third-party applications such as accounting, CRM, and production scheduling platforms.
  • Manage, structure, and optimise databases containing client records, order histories, and production workflow data.
  • Evaluate and identify inefficiencies in current workflows and implement software-based improvements to increase production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Conduct software testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to maintain system performance and integrity.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and system specifications, to support ongoing operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal staff on the use of newly developed systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with management and operational teams to ensure software solutions align with Hornet Press's business objectives and long-term digital transformation strategy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
