Seeking an eager and motivated Legal Assistant to join our Horsham team making a difference in the Wimmera area.

  • Part time (0.5 FTE) maximum term position up to 15 months
  • Salary range: $64,827 - $78,718 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
  • Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model

About the role

We are seeking an engaged and motivated Legal Assistant to join our team of legal and support staff making a difference in the Wimmera area.

Based in our Horsham office, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of our client services. You will triage client queries at court and in the office, as well as provide information and referrals to the public, legal practitioners and other community services. You will provide legal administrative support to our lawyers including client data entry, file management, preparation of legal documents and some roles will also include front-desk reception duties.

This role is based at our Horsham office on Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagalk Country.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Experience in providing administrative support, ideally gained within a legal environment, and/or the ability to provide client focused services in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment.
  • Strong organisational, problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet timelines and work under pressure to ensure efficient and effective delivery of VLA services.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
