About the role
Whitehall & Associates is a boutique legal firm renowned for its compassionate and dedicated representation of survivors of institutional abuse. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Solicitor to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Coffs Harbour, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of legal matters and contribute to the growth and success of our respected law firm.
What you'll be doing

Exceptional Administrative Skills – demonstrated capability in undertaking complex administrative tasks, including but not limited to, supporting Senior Associate in day-to-day tasks (as assigned),

Exceptional Drafting Skills – demonstrated capability in drafting complex documents, including but not limited to, advice letters, contracts, letters to clients and other parties, Briefs for Counsel, following established precedents whilst also using critical thinking to develop and expand current database, articles for website content, scripts for Social Media and assisting Senior Associate in any delegated task involving legal drafting.

Witness Statement's – demonstrated capability in taking detailed affidavits, witness statements, interviewing

Exceptional Client Engagement – passion for clientele management, ability to adapt response dependant upon the type of client you are engaging with, and a demonstrated understanding of key areas of client relationship building that will assist the firm in achieving its desired outcome for clients.

Manage client matters from initial consultation through to resolution

Conduct legal research and prepare court documents

Liaise with third parties, including counsel, experts, and government agencies

Represent clients at hearings and mediations

Maintain accurate and confidential case records
What we're looking for
-
Experience in Institutional Abuse, Personal Injury, and Corporate/Commercial Law is desired.

A Bachelor's degree in Law and a valid practising certificate

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lawyer, preferably in a generalist law firm

Strong legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex legal issues

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to clients

Proven track record of delivering high-quality work and meeting deadlines

Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with legal trends and best practices
