The Risk & Control Advisory & Delivery team is responsible for ensuring that strong controls are in place and decisions are well informed, timely and socialised. They achieve this through providing an end-to-end risk and control service, including the effective design and implementation of controls, ensuring the operational risk & compliance frameworks are effectively implemented and ensuring each business unit Leadership Team member has the right level of comfort and governance within their risk environment.

As the leading business lender in Australia, Business Lending is committed to supporting Australian businesses grow serving over one million Business Banking customers across all lending segments - Small Business Banking, Regional & Agribusiness Banking, Commercial Banking and Major Client Group. As the Manager, Risk and Control Advisory and Delivery, you will be responsible for ensuring that new and changing products and processes are assessed; awareness is raised and risk mitigations as it relates to Business Lending products and our customers. You will achieve this through the effective management of change initiatives, issues and incidents, design and implementation of controls to enable compliance and supporting the business through new and changing processes.

The purpose of your role will be to proactively detect and anticipate responses to changes in the internal and external risk landscape that may impact Business Lending:

Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising on opportunities to enhance the design and resiliency of business processes and compliance
• Providing insightful business intelligence to accountable owners, governing forums and committees, to create transparency of risk outcomes
• Leveraging business expertise and insights to make recommendations to the business for prioritisation of investments, interventions and enhancements to mitigate risk
• Advising and enabling senior stakeholders to manage their risk, compliance obligations and business operations within risk appetite
• Partnering with the business to prepare responses to issues, near misses, and emerging risks or threats to resilience
• Advocating for and advising the business on using appropriate tools, practices and frameworks to enable execution of risk reduction and proactive risk management
• Working in an agile manner and across disciplines to facilitate rapid response to issues, near misses, and emerging risks or threats to resilience

We're Interested In Hearing From People Who Have

• Proven experience in risk and control advisory, governance, compliance, or similar in financial services.
• Developed insights that demonstrate a broad understanding of business context and priorities.
• Prior experience in a customer facing or direct customer resolution role is ideal.
• A strong risk mindset and can contribute to the growth of the business whilst providing strong recommendations for reducing potential risk exposure.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.
