ProQM focus on servicing our clients by representing them at their nominated suppliers facility, for various inspections and surveillance activities. ProQM holds accreditation in both ISO9001 and NATA to ISO/IEC 17020, and will provide all our clients with NATA accredited reports for all services we offer.

The role:

The Welding Inspector will be responsible for carrying out inspections and verification activities on large-scale steel fabrication projects.

This includes reviewing welding procedures, monitoring fabrication processes, verifying weld quality against applicable standards, and ensuring all works comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, and safety requirements.

The role will involve visual inspections, dimensional checks, and review of welding records, as well as liaising with fabricators, supervisors, and project managers to resolve quality issues.

Accurate documentation and timely reporting will be essential to support project delivery and compliance.

Qualifications & experience

Welding inspector/Supervisor qualifications to IWI-S, IWS, Cert 10 - AS2214. Fluent English speaking and report writing ability using ProQM real-time reporting software. Minimum 10 years experience as a welding inspector, Auditing qualifications would be ideal but not necessary.

Knowledge of AS1554.1 and AS5131 Experience with VicRoads specifications preferred.

Inspectors will need to be based in Tasmania, with a focus primarily in Launceston.
