Monash Country Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen and deliver a high-quality, consistent dining experience for our members and guests.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established private golf club with a clear food strategy that works exceptionally well across our Bistro and Pro Shop offerings. You will enjoy genuine work life balance, with very few night events, and the freedom to design and refine menus that our members value.

The role will suit a chef who appreciates structure, consistency, creativity, and a calm, professional environment. It is an exciting time at Monash as we move into one of our busiest periods at the end of this year and the start of next year.

Key responsibilities


• Lead day-to-day kitchen operations


• Design and implement seasonal menus for the Bistro and Pro Shop


• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency


• Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier management


• Manage rosters to align with service demands and operational needs


• Work within established budgets and contribute to cost control initiatives


• Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant kitchen at all times


• Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff


• Contribute to the ongoing development of Food and Beverage standards

About you


• A skilled chef with experience leading a kitchen team


• Strong organisational skills and a calm, professional manner


• Confident in managing kitchen rosters and working within budgets


• Creative with menu development, while understanding the needs of a member-based venue


• Committed to high standards of food quality and service


• Positive, collaborative, and able to build strong relationships across departments


• Able to provide evidence of unrestricted working rights in Australia, as no sponsorships are available for this role


• Must have your own reliable transport, as the Club is not located on main public transport routes
