About the role

We are seeking an experienced NBN - Telstra civil labourer to join our team at TSM Contractors Pty Ltd in Blakeview, SA. This is a full-time position (after a probation period), where you will be responsible for providing essential civil construction support for the rollout of the National Broadband Network (NBN) and Telstra infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform general civil construction duties such as excavation, trenching, backfilling, and laying conduits
  • ACM pit upgrades
  • Cable hauling (fibre and copper)
  • Operate various light plant and equipment, including jackhammers, compactors, and small excavators
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of underground NBN and Telstra network infrastructure
  • Maintain a high standard of work quality, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Collaborate with the construction team to ensure efficient and timely project delivery

What we're looking for

  • Relevant experience in civil construction, preferably with exposure to telecommunications or utility infrastructure projects
  • Whitecard
  • WZTM ticket
  • Current driver's MR-HR truck license is desirable
  • Asbestos removal ticket
  • Locate underground services qualification
  • Proficiency in operating light plant and equipment used in the construction industry
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Be able to operate an iPad to a basic level
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Current driver's MR-HR truck license is desirable
