System Administrators at Fin Design + Effects are responsible for maintaining
and evolving the studio's technical infrastructure to support VFX and animation
production. This includes building scalable systems, automating workflows, and
ensuring reliability across locations.

They play a central role in creating and maintaining a secure,
efficient, and dependable environment for production technology. Acting as a
bridge between IT Engineering and Development teams, they ensure the
infrastructure meets the dynamic needs of VFX workflows.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

● Strong problem-solving abilities
● Excellent communication and teamwork skills
● Ability to deliver effective work while working independently and remotely
● Demonstrated knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
● Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automating the setup and management of IT
infrastructure using code, which enhances repeatability and minimizes
human error.
● Tooling and Automation: Developing custom tools or configuring existing
tools to streamline processes and reduce manual tasks.
● Orchestration: Managing containerized application deployment and
operation through tools like Kubernetes.
● DevOps Integration: Close collaboration with developers to align culture
and processes, promoting shared accountability.
● Scalability: Ensuring infrastructure can easily expand to meet workload
increases through practices like auto-scaling.
● Monitoring: Implementing observability solutions to track infrastructure
health, dependencies, and application performance.
● Preferably Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
or 5+ years in related field or relevant Industry Experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will design, document, deliver and maintain infrastructure platform projects
in support of Fin Design + Effects business needs. You will act as a trusted
consultant to internal stakeholders, managing everything from technical planning
to project execution and operational support.

Your core responsibilities will include:
● Consultation: Engage with business unit stakeholders to understand
technical requirements and translate these into effective platform
solutions.
● Solution Design: Develop detailed technical designs in alignment with
DMFX's global architecture standards and initiatives including diagrams,
documentation, and scope of works for third-party implementers.
● Technology Evaluation: Support the evaluation of emerging technologies
by providing practical, business-aligned perspectives that inform adoption
and implementation strategies.
● Operational Support: Configure devices in line with design specifications,
carry out break-fix activities, and act as an escalation point for
troubleshooting platform issues across the APAC region. ·Installation and
configuration of software, hardware and any other required technology
tools to support and maintain the needs of the platform.
● Platform Automation and Standardization: Design, implement, and
support deployment and orchestration services for both on-premise and
cloud-based platform services.
● Manage and maintain Fin's Virtualisation Platform.
● Implement new technologies inline with Fin's Technology roadmap.
● Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO, Infrastructure Lead, DevOps lead
and Pipeline Lead to facilitate timely delivery of projects, developments and
tools.
● Collaborate with the Global Platform team to ensure best practices, group
alignment, and platform conformity and interoperability.
● Liaise with the Pipeline and DevOp's team to ensure best practices and
provide holistic solutions based on the requirements gathered.
● Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to VFX
artists and other technical team members, troubleshooting issues and
resolving technical challenges.
● Diagnose and remedy platform issues. storage faults, network faults, server
faults.

● Security: Meet our TPN Best Practice compliance requirements and
obligations with regards to Platform Security and best practices.
● Maintain patching on all Platform systems. In line with our TPN Best
Practice requirements and incumbent business policies.
● Mentoring: Mentor Service Desk and junior/mid Engineering staff to
promote Career Development, foster knowledge sharing and expand skills
coverage and cross over.
