
Coordinator – Family Dispute Resolution

About the role
This is a permanent full -time opportunity working 5 days / week (35 hours). Located at Uniting's Family Relationship Centre in Fairfield
As Coordinator, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) services at Uniting. Alongside providing FDR in parenting and property matters, you will:
- Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to our team of FDRPs.
- Work collaboratively with the Centre Manager to oversee, coordinate and promote FDR services across Uniting Counselling and Mediation (UCM).
- Support practitioners with complex cases and casework concerns, ensuring safe and effective practice.
This is a leadership role that balances client facing work with FDRP supervision. You will be a trusted supervisor, mentor, and role model who helps shape high-quality, client-centred services that respond to families at times of change and conflict.
About You
- Current accreditation by the Attorney-General's Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
- Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology, social work or a related field.
- Several years experience in providing clinical supervision to practitioners.
- Strong knowledge of the issues impacting children and families during and after separation, including a sound understanding of family law legislation.
- Expertise in child-inclusive practice and working with families experiencing conflict and complex issues.
- Advanced skills in screening and managing cases involving family violence.
Understanding of community services and networks relevant to families in relationship difficulty.
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
- A culturally sensitive approach, with the ability to communicate across languages and cultural contexts.
- A calm, kind, and collaborative style, with the ability to remain neutral and exercise discretion in challenging situations.
