Electorate Officer

About the role

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Electorate Officer to join the office of Helen Dalton MP, representing the local community in Deniliquin. As an Electorate Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Member of Parliament in their work and connecting with constituents. This is a temporary position - 30 hours per week available from December to April with the potential for ongoing work.

What you'll be doing

1. Providing high-quality administrative support to the Member of Parliament, including managing correspondence and general office duties
2. Assisting constituents with queries and connecting them with relevant government services and resources
3. Conducting research and preparing materials to support the Member's parliamentary work
4. Representing the Member at community events and meetings as required
5. Maintaining strong relationships with local stakeholders and organisations
6. Contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the electorate office

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
2. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
3. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality support
4. A genuine interest in and understanding of the political and community environment
5. Good word processing/keyboard and computer skills in an office environment
