About Role:
At IHNA, the Clinical Simulation Officer plays a pivotal role in revolutionizing learning experiences. They orchestrate immersive simulations to hone clinical skills, enhance confidence, and bridge theory with practice. Responsible for coordinating scenarios, managing simulation equipment, and guiding students, they ensure a dynamic and effective educational environment. By fostering realism and critical thinking, they empower healthcare professionals to excel in their roles, contributing to the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently liaise with Course Coordinators to establish and communicate lab session timetables promptly to students.
- Successfully manage and finalize necessary paperwork related to laboratory sessions, including the Lab attendance register and Lab equipment/inventory register.
- Ensure the preparation and ongoing upkeep of simulation and practical skills labs, encompassing tasks such as bed cleaning and general hygiene control.
- Effectively manage laboratory expenses within the allocated budget by negotiating and renewing agreements with lab inventory suppliers as needed.
- Collaborate with Academic Staff and Course Coordinators to Ensure 100% Alignment of Simulation Scenarios with Curriculum Objectives
- Achieve a 10% reduction in wastage of stock/consumables within the fiscal year.
- Achieve student engagement rate of at least 90% to promote active participation and engagement in lab activities, enhancing hands-on learning experiences.

Qualification Experience & Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications
AQF Level 5, bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Health Science, Biochemistry, nursing, etc).
Experience
- Several years of experience in simulation education or a related healthcare field
- Experience in designing, implementing, and facilitating simulation scenarios for healthcare professionals.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in using simulation technologies and software
- Familiarity with and adherence to relevant regulatory standards, such as NPAAC in Australia.
- Knowledge of healthcare practices and patient care procedures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to adopt and integrate new technologies enhance the simulation experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges.
- Ability to analyze and assess the effectiveness of simulation scenarios and make improvements.
