Hostel Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Hostel Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our busy and friendly hostel. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and knows how to deliver excellent guest experiences while meeting business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily hostel operations: front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services.

Recruit, train, and manage a small team of staff and volunteers.

Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests.

Resolve issues quickly and professionally – problem-solving is essential.

Work under pressure and make fast, sound decisions when needed.

Manage bookings, occupancy, and revenue.

Work with budgets and drive the hostel toward meeting monthly targets.

Maintain compliance with all safety and operational regulations.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 2 years' experience in hostel or hotel management.

Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities, fast decision-making, and able to stay calm under stress.

Comfortable working with budgets and hitting performance targets.

Tech-savvy and familiar with common OTA platforms and office tools.

Australian citizen or permanent resident only – this is a mandatory requirement.
