We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Australian manufacturing business with a strong commitment to environmental compliance and sustainability. Based at their Maryvale site in Victoria, this role offers a great opportunity for a lab technician or chemist with a passion for environmental monitoring.

This is a hands-on, lab-based position ideal for someone looking to build or grow their career in environmental science within an industrial setting.

The Role:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be part of a team responsible for conducting environmental testing to monitor the company's compliance with EPA licence conditions.

You'll perform lab analyses, contribute to reporting and help ensure accurate, high-quality data that supports environmental and operational performance.

Please note this is a fulltime, on-hired casual position with the view for mid to long term engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform environmental tests using standard lab instrumentation and techniques
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of analytical results
  • Assist with calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment
  • Follow OH&S and environmental procedures at all times
  • Report hazards, incidents, or near misses and contribute to a safe work culture
  • Participate in team training and knowledge-sharing activities

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Science (Mandatory) – Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related
  • Laboratory experience in NATA lab dealing with water testing
  • Experience with wastewater testing methods that are used across the wastewater testing industry.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and familiarity with instruments such as:
  • UV-Vis Spectrophotometry
  • Atomic Absorption
  • Ion/Gas Chromatography
  • ICP, FTIR, AOX, Autotitrators, or Mercury Meters (ideal, not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
