Part-time – 20 hours per week (10:00am – 2:00pm preferred, but may be negotiable) - during School Terms plus an additional 1.2 weeks each year
Commencing 27 January 2026
We are seeking a qualified and caring Nurse to oversee our Health Centre during school terms. The role includes providing first aid, day-to-day health support and wellbeing care for our students, as well as liaising with families and staff regarding student health needs.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Provide health care and first aid on campus and school camps
- Implement and monitor individual health care plans
- Support school wellbeing initiatives and contribute to health-related programs and activities
- Liaise with the Pastoral Care team regarding student health matters as required, including providing reports as and when required
- Maintain first aid kits, defibrillators, medical supplies, and equipment in line with safety and compliance standards.
- Assist with the ongoing review and development of school policies related to health and wellbeing
- Occasional attendance at overnight school camps and school events when necessary
Role Requirements
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse.
Demonstrated clinical experience in providing first aid, emergency response, and ongoing care in a professional setting.
Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011 or equivalent) and CPR certification.
Current Working with Children Check
Current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professional boundaries.
Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in managing health-related situations.
Desirable Role Requirements
Previous experience working as a Nurse in a school, community, or paediatric/child health environment.
Knowledge of health promotion and wellbeing strategies relevant to children and adolescents.
Familiarity with school environments and an understanding of duty of care requirements in education settings.
Training or experience in mental health first aid.
Competence in using electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of SEQTA and Synergetic
Affiliation with the Independent School Nurses Association
