The Opportunity

Due to the continued growth of our Corporate and Transactional Services practice in Australia, we are now looking for experienced M&A lawyers to join our Sydney and/or Melbourne offices.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced lawyers to take a leading role on domestic and cross border transactions for a range of exciting high-profile projects across the Asia Pacific. You will be an important contributor to the success of the transactional services team, working closely with Partners on business development activities to identify new client opportunities, and to contribute strategically to proposal and tender efforts. Additionally, you will also be encouraged to develop your own valuable relationships and build on your market presence.

This role provides a fantastic career development opportunity. You will be a key member of the team joining at a time when the firm is growing rapidly in Australia, particularly in the corporate team. It's a very exciting time to come on board

Candidate Profile

At Pinsent Masons we do things a bit differently and look for high-performers who are not afraid to try new things and question the status quo.

You will need to be a qualified lawyer, between four to eight years post-qualification experience gained in private practice, along with the following skills and attributes:

Demonstrated experience working on private and/or public M&A transactions
Infrastructure and/or energy sector experience (helpful but not essential)
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
Collegiate and collaborative, with the ability to lead, mentor and support other team members
Be commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development
Enjoy working in a fast-paced high-performing team
Bring energy and passion to the role

Pinsent Masons welcomes all candidates to apply, including but not limited to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, applicants from the LGBTIQ+ community, and candidates seeking part-time work.

Why join Pinsent Masons?

We have a global reach and a local feel . With 28 offices and 1500 lawyers operating across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, you'll be exposed to domestic, international and multi-jurisdictional high-profile work, yet be in an office where everyone knows your name.

We do things a bit differently . Legal services are at the core of our business, however we have diversified into other areas providing complementary services to clients through offerings like Vario flexible services.

We like to be flexible. Our firm is professional but also relaxed, you can dress for your day and in your own style. We also promote practices that support wellbeing, mental wellness and work/life balance so that everyone can thrive at work and at home.

We're lots of fun and very inclusive . Proud of our leading reputation for diversity and inclusion, we have created an open environment where everyone can bring their whole selves to work. You'll also have plenty of opportunities to participate in, and run, social activities, diversity and inclusion networks, and charitable initiatives.
