Konami is seeking an Animator to join our growing Australian graphics team, supporting initiatives across the Asia Pacific region. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the world's most iconic entertainment brands, known for its innovation in gaming, amusement, and digital entertainment

The Animator will be responsible for creating game content and some promotional artwork. You will work closely with Game Designers, Illustrators and Software Engineers to ensure any created content represents our overall game design vision.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The conceptualisation and creation of original visual sequences.
  • Design and animation of digital game content.
  • Preparing & optimising of game assets using in-house processes.
  • Collation and archiving of all created artwork assets.
  • Attending gaming expos & field research trips.
  • Animate slot reels, symbols, transitions, and bonus features
  • Design engaging visual effects for wins, jackpots, and game events
  • Collaborate with UI/UX teams to ensure smooth player interactions
  • Integrate animations into game engines (Unity preferred)
  • Optimise assets for performance across platforms (mobile, desktop)

Meticulous about frame accuracy, character consistency, and visual polish.

Collaboration:

Works effectively with directors, designers, sound engineers, and other creatives to bring concepts to life.

Adaptability:

Responds well to feedback, adjusts style or approach based on project needs or client direction.

Knowledge of Animation Principles

Apply foundational principles like squash and stretch, anticipation, and follow-through to enhance realism and appeal.

  • Minimum 2+ years professional experience in a similar role.
  • Strong portfolio & reel showing advanced skills in animation of original themes.
  • Demonstratable experience with animation, 3D modelling and video editing tools.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Maya or Blender
  • After Effects & Adobe creative suite is a must.
  • Ability to work in a team, understand design objectives and communicate effectively.
  • Capacity to respond quickly to both artistic and technical requirements.
  • Experience in the Gaming Industry is preferred, although not essential.
  • Exposure to working in an Agile environment is a plus but not essential
