Aurizon is seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to join our team in Port Augusta, South Australia.
As a Locomotive Driver with Aurizon - Bulk Central, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating locomotives, ensuring the smooth transport of freight across our extensive rail network. You will work within a supportive, safety-conscious team, striving for operational excellence and maintaining the highest service standards.

You'll also enjoy designated Rostered Time Off (RTO) to ensure you can rest and recharge. Additionally, during a relay operation, time spent in the crew van will be paid at your regular hourly rate.
- Generous Leave Entitlements: We offer 5 weeks of paid annual leave, with the option to take more if you need it. You'll also be entitled to up to 52 weeks of parental leave for new parents, paid sick and personal leave, and full compensation for public holidays, with RTO when they fall on your designated time off.

This position offers all benefits and entitlements in accordance with the Aurizon Bulk Central Rail Operations Enterprise Agreement 2024, ensuring fair and supportive conditions for all employees.
About the Role:
- Operation of locomotives, including mainline, shunting, and marshalling.
- Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
- Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of on-time running.
- Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
- Provide high-quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.
About You:
- Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon's safety strategy "I Know Safe, I Choose Safe." Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster.
- Experience working with ARTC Code of Practice & Safe Working systems (SA, WA) is advantageous.
- Experience operating air brake.
- Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
- A Certificate IV in Rail Operations.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence.
The ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as driving history checks, reference checks, and a CAT 1 Rail medical is required for these roles. Please note, these positions are not FIFO/DIDO.
