About the Role
We are seeking a professional and capable Project Engineer to join our Engineering Department based at our Head Office in Ararat, Victoria. Reporting to the Engineering and Innovations Manager, this on-site role is responsible for coordinating and executing assigned engineering tasks such as machine design, computer-aided design (CAD), project management, and R&D, across all stages of a project's lifecycle. The successful candidate will play an integral part in the innovation, design, and improvement of both new and existing products and processes, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and safety standards. As this is an on-site position, the Project Engineer will be actively involved in day-to-day collaboration with cross-functional teams, hands-on equipment testing, and direct engagement with production and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Initiate and progress design concepts utilising established engineering practices and standards.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and quality systems.
- Conduct and oversee research, testing, and validation activities, including off-site field testing.
- Support production process development, including tooling design and process optimisation.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including operator and parts manuals.
- Provide engineering and technical support to internal teams, dealers, and end users.
- Present project updates, technical findings, and product information as required.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and driven engineering professional with strong analytical and project management capabilities. You will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Australian work rights are required for this position.
Skills and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a design or project engineering role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in CAD design software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and design for production.
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and reliable work.
