Catering Assistant

We are looking for a passionate, customer-centric and highly organised Catering Assistant to join our team on a casual basis, located at Scalabrini Village in Belxey. Working closely with the Chef Manager and Cooks, you will be responsible for:

• The preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals for 120 Village residents.
• Food preparation, basic cooking, food presentation and plating, and food delivery/service to dining areas.
• Providing exceptional service, ensuring that residents receive a warm welcome, individualised attention, and responsive service.
• Work in accordance with the NSW Food Safety Act and HACCP Principles.
• Maintain an exceptional standard of hygiene and cleanliness for all cooking and food service areas.
• Ensure that all temperature checks are taken and recorded as per the schedules.
• Assist with stock control, rotation of stock, and receipting deliveries.
• Participate in audits and continuous quality improvement processes.
• Contribute to a harmonious and cooperative team culture based on mutual respect and trust.

The Roster: Morning and afternoon shifts available Monday to Sunday (6:30am-2:30pm and 2:00pm-7:00pm shifts)

Experience Required:

• Previous experience in food preparation within a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care or health services environment.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts AM/PM weekdays and weekends.
• Knowledge of the NSW Food Safety Act and HACCP Principles.
• Knowledge of WHS and infection control principles.
• Good communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent qualification desirable.
• Ability to speak and/or understand Italian or other languages desirable.
