Job Description

We are looking for a Lawyer/Associate to join our Superannuation & Insurance Litigation Team on a full-time or part-time, permanent basis. You have the choice of being based in our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office. This role will suit candidates looking to make their mark within the Firm whilst helping everyday Australians.

Our Superannuation & Insurance Litigation practice assists individuals from all walks of life with disputes arising out of:

1. their life insurance cover held either through their superannuation funds or directly with a life insurer or financial institution. The team assists people with disputed Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) claims, Income Protection claims, Trauma claims and Life Insurance claims;
2. their general insurance cover, such as home insurance or business interruption insurance; and
3. financial advice they have received from a financial advisor or financial services institution.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post admission experience in insurance litigation (life or general insurance) or personal injury litigation
• Keen interest to specialise in superannuation, insurance and financial services litigation
• Experience in business development preferable
• Strong legal, commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong client and relationship building skills
• Strong client service focus and a passion for helping people
• Excellent organisation skills and an ability to multi-task
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to provide guidance to the wider team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
