About the role

Marina Radiology is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Sonographer to join our dynamic team. As the Chief Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing our sonography department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and the highest standards of medical imaging services.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sonography department, including scheduling, workflow management, and staffing
  • Perform and interpret a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological, and musculoskeletal scans
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to the sonography team, ensuring consistent and high-quality imaging procedures
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our medical imaging services through the development and implementation of innovative techniques and technologies

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience as a qualified sonographer, with a proven track record of excellence in the field of medical imaging
  • Registered with the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
  • Exceptional clinical skills and knowledge of a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to motivate, inspire and mentor a team of sonographers
  • Be proactive and efficient in problem solving with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and the implementation of best practices in medical imaging
