About the role
Marina Radiology is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Sonographer to join our dynamic team. As the Chief Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing our sonography department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and the highest standards of medical imaging services.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sonography department, including scheduling, workflow management, and staffing
- Perform and interpret a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological, and musculoskeletal scans
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to the sonography team, ensuring consistent and high-quality imaging procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our medical imaging services through the development and implementation of innovative techniques and technologies
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 7 years' experience as a qualified sonographer, with a proven track record of excellence in the field of medical imaging
- Registered with the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
- Exceptional clinical skills and knowledge of a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures
- Strong leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to motivate, inspire and mentor a team of sonographers
- Be proactive and efficient in problem solving with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients
- Commitment to continuous professional development and the implementation of best practices in medical imaging
