Skyrail is a locally owned family business providing a unique rainforest attraction that has built on its success to become a world leader in sustainable tourism and delivery of exceptional visitor experiences.

We are seeking a full time, suitable qualified and/or experienced Building Maintenance Officer to assist with the maintenance and repairs of Skyrail's buildings and assets, reporting into the Building Maintenance Co-ordinator. This is an exciting and rewarding role which will see you working in the beautiful scenic rainforest with a leading tourism operator.

Maintenance Officer

Due to an internal promotional opportunity, we are seeking a practical and self-motivated Building Maintenance Officer to carry out general repairs and maintenance across Skyrail Building facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to operations, staff and guests.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct routine inspections across all facilities and identify areas in need of repair or maintenance to ensure that property assets are well-maintained.
  • Carry out general building and asset repairs across the sites, including carpentry, basic mechanical, basic plumbing and painting tasks with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of work areas.
  • Coordinating with external licensed contractors for more complex or specialised repairs.
  • Ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard in a timely manner to prevent small issues from escalating into larger problems.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and troubleshoot faults.
  • Communicate effectively and build strong on-site working relationships.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times.

The successful applicant will have the following key attributes and skills:

  • Carpentry Trade qualification - preferred
  • Demonstratable strong general repair skills across multiple trades e.g. carpentry, painting, basic plumbing.
  • Ability to quickly assess maintenance problems, troubleshoot and determine the best solutions to ensure the safety and functionality of property and assets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a respectful and professional approach in customer-facing environments.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused when dealing with urgent repair requests or multiple tasks at once, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard within deadlines.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Forklift licence (LF) - preferred
  • White Card (Construction Induction) – preferred
  • Ability to work night shift as required.
