Auto Electrician – Open Pit Mining Operation Permanent Full-Time | FIFO Roster - 8:6 / 2:1 / 2:2

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our open pit mining team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostic work on a range of heavy mining equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment availability and supporting safe, efficient production across site operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy mining equipment, including haul trucks, excavators, drills, dozers, and ancillary gear.
  • Carry out scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs, and fault finding in accordance with OEM specifications and site requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and parts usage logs.
  • Conduct electrical inspections, identify potential faults, and recommend preventative maintenance actions.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area.

About You

  • Relevant trade qualification – Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as an Auto Electrician in an open pit or heavy industry environment (mining experience highly regarded).
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence (HR desirable).
  • High regard for safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing operational requirements.
