The Opportunity

We're looking for a people-focused leader to join our team in Laverton North. 

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, leading a small team, and coordinating truck maintenance schedules to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.

While experience in operations or waste is an advantage, we're most interested in someone with strong people skills, good computer literacy, and the ability to learn new systems and processes.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver safe and efficient operations
• Foster a positive, safety-first culture aligned with Cleanaway values
• Schedule and coordinate truck maintenance and servicing
• Check run sheets and connect with drivers at the start and/or shifts
• Monitor workflows and assist with daily scheduling and team coordination
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

About You

You are a motivated, approachable leader with a can-do attitude who thrives in a team environment. You'll be a trusted go-to person for your team and ready to handle the tricky conversations when needed.

• Experience in a supervisory role, ideally within waste, logistics, or transport sectors
• Strong people leadership skills, including supporting your team and having difficult conversations
• Solid understanding of HSE and environmental legislation, and  a familiarity with safety management systems, compliance, and fatigue management
• Intermediate skills in Excel and Word
• Exposure to P&L/branch financials is a plus
• Resilient, confident, and comfortable in challenging situations
• Organised and able to implement your own systems to keep operations on track
