SMYL Community Services is seeking an experienced trainer to deliver the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program at Greenough Regional Prison in Geraldton. The SEE program provides language, literacy and numeracy skills to individuals, enabling them to undertake further training and participate in the economy and society.
About the role:
We are looking for a trainer to deliver Certificate I in Leadership to incarcerated adult learners at Greenough Prison. The position is part-time and based within the prison.
About you:
You will be adaptable, resilient, and able to build rapport with students in a unique and challenging learning environment. Your focus will be on delivering quality project-based training and supporting students to gain skills that improve their future opportunities.
What we are looking for:
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or currently working towards.
• Certificate in Leadership, or relevant experience in leadership training.
• Experience in project-based learning and delivering programs with a focus on projects.
• Experience delivering training, preferably in adult education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to supporting learners to achieve positive outcomes through education and training.
• Ability to obtain a current National Police Clearance and pass all required Department security and suitability checks for working within a prison environment.
• Previous experience working within a prison, corrective services, or with disadvantaged cohorts will be highly regarded.
