We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a seasoned Microsoft Cloud & Platform Solution
Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in Microsoft's Azure Cloud solutions. including Azure Networking, Azure Resources, Azure Migrations, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and M365 Migrations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of utilising existing platform skills such as Server, Storage, Networking, SAN, NAS, Hyper-V, and vSphere to help customers transition to the cloud and optimise their cloud environments. Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, ideally transitioning from the Service Desk pathway to Project Engineering, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and Design Solutions:
Develop comprehensive architectural designs for cloud and platform solutions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and customer requirements.
- Project Delivery:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation support, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Presales and Solution Design:
Engage with clients during the presales phase to understand their needs, design tailored solutions and create detailed Statements of Work.
- Documentation:
Produce high-quality documentation, including High-Level and Low-Level Designs, technical specifications, and user guides.
- BAU Escalations:
Provide expert-level support for business-as-usual escalations, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing effective resolutions.
- Mentorship:
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
- Automation and Optimisation:
Implement automation and optimisation strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs for clients.
- Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with stakeholders, including executive-level management, to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.
- Crisis Management:
Lead crisis management efforts, providing swift and effective solutions to critical issues that impact client operations including Priority 1 incident management.
- Innovation:
Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years in the industry with 5+ years working on Cloud solutions (Azure).
- On-premises to Azure Migration(s).
- Cloud to Cloud Migration/ Mergers (AWS to Azure and vice versa).
- 0365 and M365 migrations including Exchange migrations.
- Building Azure tenants from scratch using a Well Architected Framework.
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365.
- Experience writing Statements of Work and High-Level and Low-Level Designs (Detailed Designs).
- Experience navigating complex projects with customers.
- Crisis management including Pl and P2 issues.
- Experience with Azure Backup and third-party backup solutions.
- Experience with Azure Site Recovery.
- MSP Experience: Proven experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, ideally transitioning from the Service Desk pathway to Project Engineering.

Qualifications:
- Azure Solution Architect Expert.
- M365 Certified: Administrator Expert.
- CCNA/FCP-level networking certification.
- Relevant TAFE or bachelor's qualifications preferable.
Requirements:
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Australian resident with working rights.
- Police background check, no criminal record.
Location:
- Melbourne, Sydney, or Wollongong based.

First Twelve Months working with Ericom
First Three Months:
- Onboarding and Familiarisation: Learn the tools and technologies used within the company. Familiarise yourself with our customers, their environments, and their specific needs. Understand the skill sets of existing team members to identify capabilities and gaps.
- Technical Engagement: Perform the Solution Architect role in new opportunities, including designing solutions, writing Statements of Work, and pricing opportunities. Work in a technical hands-on function, delivering projects and supporting the service desk with customer escalations. Educate yourself on any platforms or technologies that you haven't encountered previously.
- Team Integration: Engage with various teams and individuals within the company to formulate the next stage of solution development. Begin mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Following Months:
- Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope. Continue to provide expert-level support for business as-usual escalations, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing effective resolutions.
- Solution Development: Design, cost, and implement new solution types as agreed upon with stakeholders. Understand market dynamics and sales requirements to design new service offerings and product evaluations. Work with Pre-Sales and Sales teams to identify possible new solution packages or products.
- Mentorship and Development: Continue developing and mentoring engineers who deliver and support our customers. Assist the Service Delivery Manager in defining staff training and certification pathways. Occasionally help the implementation/support teams during times of large workloads to keep your technical skills up to date.
- Innovation and Optimisation: Implement automation and optimisation strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs for clients. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, including executive-level management, to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives. Provide regular reporting and direction to the business in relation to product offerings, changes, and lifecycle management.
