Formal Qualifications

  • Advanced Scaffolding (mandatory)
  • Certificate in Scaffolding Inspection (or equivalent)
  • Advanced Rigging (advantageous)
  • IRATA Rope Access Level 3 (advantageous)
  • Confined Space, Working at Heights, Gas Testing Atmospheres (GTA), and White Card (or willingness to obtain)

Skills and Technical Competencies

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • Risk management capability and practical application of safety standards
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes and material control systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of scaffolding equipment, systems, and operational procedures
  • Strong HSE knowledge, including legislated responsibilities and compliance
  • Conflict management and resolution techniques
  • Awareness of employee and industrial relations matters

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a scaffolding inspection role
  • Recent experience in refinery, shutdown, or oil & gas projects

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and site supervision of scaffold erection, re-erection, modification, and dismantling activities
  • Coordinate with the execution team to ensure scaffolding work is prioritised and rework is minimised
  • Participate in the planning and scheduling of scaffolding works and labour allocation to meet project requirements
  • Monitor and manage scaffolding material inventory
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that may impact project outcomes
  • Track progress against work schedules and budgets
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure quality standards and legislative requirements are achieved

Quality

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality systems
  • Assist with internal and external quality audits as required
  • Ensure accurate updating of scaffolding and asset maintenance records in company systems (e.g., CyberOffice)
  • Confirm that all scaffolding modifications are pre-approved and appropriately documented

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Comply with all company HSE policies and requirements, maintaining a proactive safety culture
  • Identify and report non-compliance issues in line with company procedures
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping and safe work practices in all work areas

Relationship Management

  • Communicate effectively, respectfully, and transparently with all stakeholders
  • Represent the company positively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork across all departments and disciplines
