St James Lutheran College is situated in beautiful Hervey Bay only 290kms North of Brisbane and has a P-12 enrolment of 755 students, with an on campus Kindergarten.

We are seeking highly motivated Kindergarten staff to join our St James Kindergarten team. St James Kindergarten sits on the College Campus and upholds an aligned faith-based ethos with the College. We invite applications for the below exciting positions:

Part Time Educator - 41 hours fortnight - Permanent

Part Time Administrator - 30 hours fortnight - Contract

Casual Educator

St James Lutheran Kindergarten is a thriving, locally managed long day model Kindergarten, currently serving up to 80 families, between 7:30am to 5:00pm. The learning journey begins for children from 3 years of age, who are guided by a dedicated team of educators, to provide quality education and care in a Christian environment. Children who attend our Kindergarten have priority enrolment interview into the College. We are a non-for-profit Christian organisation with a focus on ensuring that each individual child is supported in their education and care journey.

Our aim is to continue to provide high quality care, play based education, inclusive practice and help foster and enhance each child's development. We value kindness, empathy and believe building relationships is the key.

Position requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Children's Services (Essential) or Diploma Qualified (Diploma Preferred)

  • Early Childhood Education experience desirable, or a similar setting supporting neurodiverse children

  • Christian values, ethos and beliefs

  • Able to meet the criteria under the ACECQA qualification requirements.

  • Working with Children (Blue Card)

  • Current Senior First Aid CPR and Emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis

  • Have a professional and enthusiastic attitude

  • Committed to continual development and improvement both professionally and personally

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experienced using Xplor (for Administrator position)

  • Positive person who is able to develop and maintain strong relationships with families, children and colleagues

  • A genuine passion and drive in providing children with the best possible start in their learning journey
