About The Centre.Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten White Hills is our second childcare centre, located in Victoria's regional town of Bendigo in the suburb of White Hills. Our White Hills childcare centre is located close to White Hills Primary School and Bendigo's beautiful Lake Weeroona Park. The daycare centre includes six spacious rooms that support children through their entire learning journey, from nursery to kindergarten.

Our White Hills childcare centre is staffed by a team of experienced and fully qualified educators who are committed to providing the best possible care for every child. We work in close collaboration with families and ensure that any personal needs and requests are accommodated. Our teachers possess comprehensive knowledge of both the Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, which offers every child the opportunity to succeed.

The Opportunity & Responsibilities

An excellent opportunity to showcase your passion for preparing healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children. As an assistant chef you will help with food preparation and make sure everything is clean and sanitized. 

Responsibilities

• Clean the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Clean cooking and general utensils
• Wash, peel and chop vegetables and fruit
• Prepare meals
• Set up food and beverage trays for serving to children
• Comply with the centre's nutrition guidelines
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen in accordance with centre policies

About you

• Commercial Cookery Qualifications / Certificate III or higher preferred, but not necessary
• Previous experience in childcare preferred
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Food safety knowledge
• Have the ability to cater for allergies and dietary requirements
• Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at a high level at all times
• Ability to work on your own and maintain a clean and functional kitchen during Chef's absence
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Current Working with Children check, First-Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
