About the role

We're currently seeking a Session Leader to join our team at the Taree Donor Centre. Reporting to the Donor Centre Manager, you'll provide operational oversight to ensure that the end-to-end donation experience runs efficiently with no compromise on quality or safety. Occasionally, when support is needed at the Port Macquarie Donor Centre, the Session Leader may be required to travel and assist with the operational requirements (on average one shift every 2 months).

As a Session Leader, you'll provide direction, inspiration and support for your team to achieve common goals and foster team effectiveness, as well as managing tough issues with respect. You'll value self-awareness and reflect on your own strengths and areas for development, making you an even stronger leader. A day in the centre could see you:

• Deliver a supportive and safe experience to our amazing donors
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to a close-knit team of four passionate healthcare professionals
• Perform venipuncture to safely insert and remove needles for the collection of blood donations.
• Act as the first point of contact for any complex donor assessments
• Provide clinical oversight to team to ensure phlebotomy success
• Show pride in upholding our high safety and quality standards

• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build a warm connection with donors
• Collaborative nature with a strong sense of teamwork
• Digital and technical aptitude
• A Registered Nurse clinical background is highly advantageous

Permanent part time, the session leader position is based at the Taree donor centre, reporting to the Donor Centre Manager of the Taree and Port Macquarie centres.
