Bellevue Hill, New South Wales, Australia The Scots College Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year
The Heart of the Role

The Mathematics Teacher inspires curiosity, precision, and confidence in every student — helping boys to see mathematics not only as a discipline of logic and problem-solving but as a language of creativity, beauty, and connection.

Working within the Mathematics Faculty and under the guidance of the Head of Mathematics, you will deliver engaging, well-structured programs across Years 7–12 that foster critical thinking, perseverance, and intellectual growth. You will create a learning environment that challenges high achievers while supporting every boy to reach his potential.

At The Scots College, your teaching goes beyond the classroom — you will model integrity, faith, and a commitment to excellence that reflect the College's mission to inspire boys to learn, lead, and serve with courage and purpose.

Who are you?

You are an accomplished and passionate Mathematics educator who brings clarity, enthusiasm, and rigour to your teaching.

You hold recognised teaching qualifications and registration with NESA, with the ability to teach Mathematics across Years 7–12. Experience in teaching senior Mathematics at an advanced level (Mathematics Extension 1 and 2) is highly regarded.

You bring a deep understanding of how boys learn and a commitment to designing lessons that are challenging, supportive, and engaging.

You use data, feedback, and reflective practice to continually refine your teaching and improve learning outcomes.

You communicate with clarity, care, and professionalism — fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

You demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace innovation and digital tools in your teaching practice.

You bring an authentic Christian faith that shapes your approach to teaching, relationships, and service.

Where do you fit in?

You are energised by the opportunity to serve within a Christian, Presbyterian GPS school committed to excellence in boys' education.

You thrive in a collaborative and forward-thinking academic environment where intellectual curiosity and student success are celebrated.

You are motivated by purpose — helping boys to develop confidence in their mathematical thinking, resilience in the face of challenge, and pride in their achievements.

You see your role as both educator and mentor — guiding young men to approach problems with curiosity, creativity, and courage.

How do you serve others?

You design and deliver high-quality, well-sequenced mathematics programs that foster deep understanding and application of concepts.

You use assessment and feedback to support individual growth, ensuring that every boy is challenged and encouraged to achieve his best.

You collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative approaches to teaching and learning in mathematics.

You maintain open, respectful communication with families and colleagues, building a shared commitment to student learning.

You contribute to the broader life of the College through co-curricular, pastoral care, and community engagement, modelling Christian character and servant leadership.

What do we offer?

An opportunity to be part of a team committed to nurturing fine young men of faith, character, and purpose.

A dynamic and supportive teaching environment where academic excellence and holistic education are celebrated.

Ongoing professional development and mentoring to enhance your expertise in mathematics education and pedagogy.
