Role Description
Being a General Psychologist, a licensed mental health professional has to works with individuals, groups, and organizations to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and cognitive issues. use various therapeutic techniques and psychological assessments to help people understand, manage, and overcome psychological challenges. Ready to look after Medicare, NDIS, TAC, Private and Workcover clients. The role can vary depending on the setting (private practice, schools, healthcare institutions, research, etc.), but generally includes the following responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis
Conduct psychological assessments through interviews, questionnaires, and standardized tests to understand patients' emotional, mental, and behavioral concerns.
- Diagnose mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other psychological disorders based on diagnostic criteria (e.g., DSM-5).
- Develop treatment plans tailored to the individual's needs and concerns.
To do ADOS assessment and all other Neuro- Psych assessments.
Therapy and Counseling
Provide psychotherapy (talk therapy) to individuals, families, or groups, using various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, or humanistic approaches.
- Help clients develop coping strategies to manage stress, emotions, and life transitions.
- Promote mental wellness, resilience, and personal development.

Consultation and Collaboration

- Provide consultation to businesses, schools, and community organizations on mental health issues, organizational behavior, and employee well-being.
Offer advice on policies and procedures for handling mental health-related concerns.
Research and Evaluation
Conduct research in various areas of psychology to improve understanding of human behavior and mental health.
Analyze research findings and contribute to evidence-based practices in psychology.
Prevention and Education
Educate clients and the public about psychological issues and wellness strategies, including mental health awareness, stress management, and emotional well-being.
Implement preventative programs in schools, communities, or workplaces to reduce mental health risks and promote positive psychological functioning.
Ethical and Legal Practice
Ensure that all interactions with clients adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements, including confidentiality and informed consent.
- Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations related to mental health care.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess client needs and develop appropriate interventions.
