A major financial services organisation with a large national footprint is seeking an
Operational Resilience Specialist
to strengthen its resilience capability and support critical business operations. This role sits within a high-visibility function responsible for ensuring the organisation can anticipate, withstand, and rapidly respond to disruptions.

You'll work in a highly regulated environment with access to advanced monitoring tools, mature frameworks, and strong executive support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and evaluate complex business continuity and resilience matters, providing insights and maintaining high-quality documentation.
  • Support the planning, maintenance, testing, and training of business continuity plans across the organisation.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to align processes and documentation with resilience frameworks and organisational standards.
  • Assist with issue escalation, troubleshooting resilience systems, and ensuring tools are functioning effectively.
  • Contribute to resilience reporting, update forums, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate on the development of SharePoint capability, documentation libraries, and process support tools.
  • Participate in regular crisis management and BC forums, tracking progress and highlighting areas requiring attention.

  • Simulation engines and location-based alerting tools
  • Digital and social threat-monitoring capabilities
  • Integrated platforms used for resilience, risk, and incident management (e.g., BCM solutions, incident notification tools, enterprise workflow systems)
  • A strong environment focused on exercising, data-driven analysis, and scenario testing

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • Experience in business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, crisis management, emergency planning, or disaster recovery
  • Background in financial services, banking, or insurance
  • Understanding of technology and Disaster Recovery concepts
  • Strong analytical ability, especially working with large data sets or simulations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability
  • Ability to work across diverse teams and adapt your approach depending on the audience
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail

Nice to Have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business continuity or crisis management roles
  • Exposure to resilience or continuity platforms (any industry-standard BCM or incident management tools)
  • Experience developing or running continuity, resilience, or emergency management programs
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with ISO 22301 or similar standards
  • Relevant certifications in business continuity or resilience disciplines
