As we continue to grow, we're seeking a highly organised, proactive, and professional Business Administration & Development Officer to support day-to-day operations, coordinate business activities, and help drive internal efficiency.

The Role
The Business Administration & Development Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality administrative, operational, and business support. You will work closely with the leadership team, consultants, and clients, ensuring the smooth running of the office and supporting the business development cycle.
This is a casual part-time position, approximately 2 days per week, primarily based in-office (city location) and flexible work-from-home arrangements as required.
Key Responsibilities
Business Administration & Operations
· Manage all day-to-day administrative tasks to support the advisory team
· Coordinate office operations including supplies, equipment, room bookings, and maintenance
· Prepare, format, and proofread reports, proposals, presentations, and client deliverables
· Maintain corporate records, registers, documentation, templates, and filing systems
· Assist with compliance, governance, and internal process documentation
· Manage incoming enquiries, emails, and phone calls professionally and promptly
Finance & Payroll
· Administer payroll for part-time, full-time, and contractor staff
· Oversee accounts payable and receivable
· Prepare and issue client invoices; follow up on outstanding payments
· Reconcile expenses and assist with monthly financial reporting
· Support the finance lead with bookkeeping tasks and basic accounting functions
People & Culture / HR Administration
· Support the onboarding of new staff: contracts, induction packs, system setup, training coordination
· Maintain employee records and HR documentation
· Assist with recruitment administration, job ads, interview scheduling, and reference checks
· Coordinate professional development and maintain training registers
Business Development Support
· Coordinate preparation of capability statements, bids, and tender documentation
· Maintain CRM and pipeline tracking systems
· Assist the leadership team with business development scheduling, follow-ups, and prospect management
· Support marketing tasks such as event coordination, website updates, and social media content (desirable)
Events, Workshops & Meetings
· Organise internal and external workshops, team days, and client sessions
· Coordinate logistics for board meetings, including agendas, minutes, catering, and venue arrangements
· Prepare and distribute meeting papers
· Manage diaries, travel bookings, and calendars for executives
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Demonstrated experience in an administrative, office management, projects coordination, or business support role
· Experience within professional services, consulting, corporate, or similar environments
· Strong knowledge of payroll, invoicing, accounts administration, and financial processes
· Exceptional organisation, prioritisation, and multi-tasking abilities
· High attention to detail, strong written communication, and professional presentation
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, and cloud-based systems
· Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and proactively solve problems
Desirable
· Experience assisting with business development, marketing, or tender submissions
· Familiarity with project management systems, CRMs, or finance platforms (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar)
· Exposure to governance processes, board support, or minute-taking
· Ability to manage small internal projects or process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
· Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration, Business, HR, or related field (highly regarded)
· Additional training in bookkeeping, payroll, or project coordination is an advantage
