About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Job description:
Who we're looking for
Are you an experienced electrician seeking a challenging and rewarding career in the mining industry? In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair of overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment across our surface and underground areas. You'll ensure all lifting systems operate safely and reliably to support production and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair, and maintain fixed overhead crane components
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and other electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to create a secure work environment for all employees.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Provide timely response to emergency overhead crane breakdowns to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
- Comfortable working at heights utilising EWPs and scaffolding, on both surface and underground situations whilst working with safety at the forefront.
Requirements:
- Trade Qualification & Electrical License.
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial settings, with specific experience in mining operations being a strong asset. Ideally with overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- HRWL (WP, DG, CB, RB, RI) and Working at Heights training highly regarded.
