Join Our Team as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager: Lead with Compassion and Expertise
Are you a skilled nurse ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our leadership team and help provide high-quality care in our ward/unit/service.
About the Role:
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in leading the nursing team and overseeing daily unit operations. Your responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of compassionate, person-centered care while maintaining compliance with health standards and promoting a supportive environment for staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the nursing/midwifery team to ensure high standards of care are consistently maintained.
- Promote continuity and consistency of care by collaborating with other AN/MUM and the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager.
- Assist in implementing practice changes to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Support in managing ward/unit/service operations, including performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation, and attendance management.
- Assist in financial and supplies planning, as well as monitoring expenditures and resource usage.
- Mentor and develop less experienced staff through training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure their continuous professional growth.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures to uphold clinical standards and regulatory compliance.

What We're Looking For:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
- Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
