About the role

Gusto Riverfront Restaurant, a leading award-winning restaurant in Noosaville QLD, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef and Chef de Partie to join our accomplished culinary team. As a Sous Chef and Chef de Partie, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our customers, upholding our commitment to quality and innovation.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Head Chef in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation
• Preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes, both à la carte and specials, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
• Maintaining strict adherence to health, safety and hygiene regulations
• Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
• Participating in menu development and contributing ideas to enhance our culinary offerings
• Ensuring efficient stock control and effective kitchen management

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-quality restaurant or hotel environment
• Formal culinary qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Exceptional culinary skills, with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles and plating
• Excellent time management, problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
• Passion for using fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
