Our client is looking for a self-driven and motivated safety professional with experience supporting leaders to manage compliance and deliver safety initiatives. With existing systems and processes in place, they want someone to hit the ground running and drive constant improvement.

You will be responsible for directing the existing work health and safety system across all operations of the organisation to ensure full legislative compliance, as well as seeking ways to elevate their processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the company remains complaint with all regulatory requirements including the Chain of Responsibility (CoR).
  • Carry out regular checks and audits in accordance with prescribed schedules
  • Review and improve existing compliance processes
  • Identify gaps and report on findings with practical recommendations
  • Schedule and coordinate inspections and testing
  • Manage training requirements of all staff in the business
  • Stay up to date with legislation and apply changes as required across the business.
  • Be proactive with safety initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and accidents;
  • Work with staff and management to ensure compliance is understood and maintained.
  • Travel to sites as required to carry out audits, inspections and training.
  • Conduct risk assessments and lead incident investigations
  • Assist with maintenance of all certifications and accreditations;
  • Deliver training sessions, WHS meetings and reporting;

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar in transport operations, safety or compliance
  • Qualifications in workplace health and safety
  • Strong understanding of safety standards including HVNL and CoR
  • Knowledge of WHS Act and Regulations
  • Excellent communication and training skills to influence and educate others
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessing highly regarded
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • A proactive mindset and passion for continual improvement.
  • Strong auditing, risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Current drivers' licence;
