Sonnel is seeking a versatile and driven Interior Designer & Junior Design Manager to join our growing team in Sydney. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of creative design and project coordination — bringing spaces to life while keeping projects running smoothly.

About the Role

As part of Sonnel's design team, this is a unique opportunity to step into a position that blends creative interior design with hands-on project management. You'll be instrumental in developing strategic design briefs, overseeing procurement, managing timelines, and ensuring seamless delivery of furniture and finishes across multiple projects. You'll work autonomously while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and collate strategic design briefs
  • Lead interior design concepts, space planning, and FF&E selections
  • Manage project administration, scheduling, and reporting
  • Oversee procurement, ordering, and delivery logistics for furniture and finishes
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
  • Maintain clear communication across teams and clients

Skills & Software Proficiency

  • SketchUp, AutoDesk, ArchiCAD, Revit
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Highly organised and able to work autonomously
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle
