The Venue
Located in the heart of Rosebery, DELI REPUBLIC is the combination of a traditional old-world deli and a fast-paced cafe. Situated within The Cannery complex, the hub of food, drinks and creative arts, it includes neighbours like Archie Rose, Black Star Pastry, Three Blue Ducks, Banh Xeo Bar and Gelato Messina.
Inspired by the Deli's of New York our full deli counter has a full range of premium smallgoods, cheese, dips, antipasto and more from the best local and international producers. The kitchen crafts everything from tasty Reubens to panini, bagels, baked goods, condiments, sauces, and more.
The Role
We are currently seeking 1 talented and motivated chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-quality dishes and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Full time; 4 days a week
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Strong ability to work efficiently under pressure and during busy service times
- A team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Creativity and consistency in food preparation and presentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Assist in menu development and daily specials as needed
- Assist with catering orders
- Help monitor inventory and stock control
