Our client is a well-regarded, family-owned business operating across the Electrical, Power Distribution, Manufacturing, Construction and Maintenance sectors.  With 150 staff across seven companies and annual revenue of approximately $55million, the business continues on a stable growth trajectory. Due to an internal secondment, they are now seeking a professional Finance Officer with great attention to detail to join them part-time for a 3-month contract to assist during a busy period.

The Role:

This role is crucial in ensuring the effective management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes, and financial reporting. The Finance Officer will work closely with all staff to provide expert advice and ensure timely financial processes.

This role will give you the opportunity to work as part of a small team in a fresh and dynamic working environment and culture.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including supplier payments and reconciling credit cards;
  • Oversee weekly payroll, including employee onboarding, superannuation payments and staff payroll queries;
  • Reconcile income and expenses, ensuring accuracy in month-end accounting
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports to the Management team; and
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

Ideally you will have strong bookkeeping, payroll management or accounting experience. You will enjoy the ability to work independently and autonomously whilst participating in broader team activities. You will have strong communication skills and a sense of urgency to respond to queries and support team members as required. You will be organised and put in place practices to meet tight deadlines and project timeframes.

Please note:  This role can be done 3 days a week, or condensed school hours if preferred.
