Job Description
Our Kalgoorlie Service Centre 2026 Apprentice intake will be bringing on the following apprentices:
- 2 Diesel Fitters
- 1 Light Vehicle Fitter
- 1 Electrician
A great opportunity for Kalgoorlie based residents to join the team and work towards attaining a Trade. Your first year will be based in the workshop at our Kalgoorlie Service Centre where there will be ample support in to kick start your career.
Responsibilities
- Attend necessary training courses for apprenticeship
- Actively contribute to continuously develop your skills in Underground Maintenance
- Perform mechanical maintenance and/or electrical repairs as directed and as per maintenance plans, to a standard that maintains the integrity of the equipment and does not compromise safe operation
- Responsible for a safe work environment by contributing to JSA.s, JHA's, risk assessments and engineering technical standards, facility standards and work practices
- Performing planned and breakdown repairs to ensure that heavy mobile equipment availability supports production requirements
- Perform repair and fault finding using hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Provide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity
- Work towards achieving set KPI's
Qualifications
- enthusiasm and motivation to learn and succeed;
- willingness to commit to and complete a four (4) year apprenticeship;
- year 10 certificate or higher;
- possess a strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude;
- Electrical applicants must pass a colour vision test;
- Electrical applicants require year 12 math (and science is preferred)
- current First Aid & CPR certificate (desired);
- valid manual drivers licence;
- the ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as work unsupervised;
- good communication skills, both verbally and written;
- able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and complete assigned tasks safely;
- a safety attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto Safety - First, Last and Always;
