Ability OT is seeking a talented and motivated clinician to join our Brisbane Team.

An exciting opportunity for full time or part time employment exists in our Morningside clinic. This position is open to experienced clinicians. New graduate clinicians not considered at this time.

Our Morningside clinic services the Greater Brisbane area, Ipswich, Logan, Northern Gold Coast and Southern Sunshine Coast regions.

We are looking for an occupational therapist who is passionate about their profession and keen to develop their knowledge of neurological rehabilitation. The position is open to experienced clinicians looking to be part of a supportive team.

The role would suit professionals who are seeking to further develop their clinical neurological rehabilitation knowledge, whilst maintaining job flexibility.

Ability OT is a community-based rehabilitation provider that offers specialist occupational therapy services to people with catastrophic injuries and complex neurological conditions - including acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and stroke. We also provide high quality services to clients diagnosed with Younger Onset Dementia.

We are a team of highly skilled occupational therapists with a strong focus on supporting the development of our staff through regular individual and team supervision, continuing professional development opportunities and caseload variety. We are an OT clinician lead practice, meaning that you will be supervised by an OT, and all service decisions are made by OT's in the best interest of our profession. What the role involves:

  • Conducting OT assessments including initial rehabilitation, care needs assessment, neurological specific assessment, vocational, environmental and equipment needs assessment.
  • Developing and implementing rehabilitation programs to assist our clients to meet their goals.
  • Provision of home, telehealth and clinic-based rehabilitation programs.
  • Report and letter of support writing.
  • Opportunities for supervisory responsibilities and leadership roles within a growing service.
  • Potential for engagement in research projects and presentation at relevant conferences.

The ideal candidate:

  • ​AHPRA Registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Interest in community /clinical rehabilitation with neurological conditions. Prior experience is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Experience working within the NDIS framework an advantage.
  • Additional qualifications including Driver Assessor Trained desirable.
  • Medicolegal experience desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and high-level communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Current Open Driver's licence.
  • A team player with enthusiasm to contribute to the growth of the service and grow professionally.
